MIA!

The Hound reckons when it comes to continued pollution breaches in the country’s largest city  you don’t hear a word from supposed environmental groups.

Earlier this month health warnings were issued at more than 30 Auckland beaches after heavy rain, with dozens of beaches in the city remaining unsafe for swimming due to sewage outflows. Did we see Greenpeace’s Australian head and former Green MP Russel Norman all over the television news decrying the situation or kayaking around the sewage-laden beaches? No! Did we see Forest and Bird’s American water expert Annabeth Cohen jumping up and down in the media demanding an end to such terrible pollution?  No. Funny as you’d never find these groups missing in action when it came to supposed ‘dirty dairying’ or ‘industrial irrigation’.
