Agriculture leads productivity

During 2008–11, labour productivity in the agriculture industry increased 3.4% a year, Statistics New Zealand says. Agriculture was the main contributor to labour productivity in the measured sector, which increased 0.5%.

30,600 to second day

Day two of New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays brought 30,647 visitors through the gate.

Although less than 2011's record Thursday, figures were still typical of previous years. With two days remaining, total visitors to Fieldays have reached 57,735.
