Pork Remains Among NZ's Most Affordable Meats: Stats NZ
As the cost-of-living crisis continues to put pressure on household grocery budgets, new figures show pork remains one of the most affordable fresh meat options for New Zealand families.
“New Zealand First will not stand by while regional bureaucrats and courtroom processes make it harder to grow vegetables, milk cows, produce food and keep rural communities alive.
“We are in a cost-of-living crisis. The last thing New Zealand needs is a planning regime that pushes up food prices.”
PC1 was first notified in 2016 and was appealed to the Environment Court with its decision released on June 8.
The court directed the Waikato Regional Council to make 20 changes to PC1, giving it until July 21 to do so. Once the court confirms the amendments meet its intent, the plan will be finalised.
