McIntyre thanks farmers as he prepares to bow out of Feds
On the eve of his departure from Federated Farmers board, Richard McIntyre is thanking farmers for their support and words of encouragement during his stint as a farmer advocate.
Federated Farmers is saddened to see Simon Couper resign as Fonterra Shareholders Council chair, says Feds dairy chairman Willy Leferink.
"Simon is a man of honour and it speaks volumes that he stuck to his guns under what is an intense pressure cooker environment," says Leferink.
"That's something I know only too well. The lobbying is frankly unbelievable from all sides.
"Simon is a hard working and intelligent man who believes strongly in Fonterra as a 100% farmer controlled cooperative."
