Doie, not hui

Written by  Milking It

Milking It understands that at a recent Federated Farmers meeting in Wellington, there was robust discussion around farmer levies paid to industry-good organisations.

One speaker talked about two adjacent farms he owns; one milking cows, the other raising bulls and beef cattle.

He questioned why industry groups he pays tens of thousands of dollars in levies, say different things about the farms with same outcomes?

“Too much double up and too much farmers’ dollars spent on Hui, not doie and outcomes.”

With DairyNZ’s levy vote looming, farmers may be taking note of such concerns.
