Yawn

Who would have thunk it? Winston Peters screeching on and on about the dangers of an imminent Asian invasion and takeover of N-Zed!

Your old mate notes that, this time, the St Mary’s Bay (Auckland) MP for Northland is not telling farmers who they can sell their farms too, but trying to fan hysteria about possible Chinese investment in meat company Silver Fern Farms. However, Peters was not content to send just one media release on the issue, but instead sent out the same rant three times! Perhaps Winny was a little ‘tired and emotional’ and forgot he had already pushed the send button twice before? Your Canine Crusader suggests maybe it is time for a new tune, as Peters is becoming more boring and increasingly boorish with his anti-foreign investment stance.

Make it 1000%!

OPINION: The appendage swinging contest between the US and China continues, with China hitting back with a new rate of 125% on the US, up from the 84% announced earlier.

Own goal

OPINION: The irony of President Trump’s tariff obsession is that the worst damage may be done to his own people.

No more pines!

Forests planted for carbon credits are permanently locking up NZ’s landscapes, and could land us with more carbon costs, says the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment (PCE).
