NH tractor powered by methane goes on sale
First unveiled in 2023, New Holland has announced the addition of the T7.270 Methane Power CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) tractor to the recently expanded T7 Range.
The latest New Holland T5 Tier 4B tractor range has been re-engineered meet Tier 4B emissions regulations.
And it has new features which improve comfort, efficiency and productivity.
The three models include the T5.100 (99hp), the T5.110 (107hp) and the T5.120 (117hp). The maximum torque figures -- up by as much as 24% at 1500rpm -- are, respectively, 430, 468 and 491 Nm.
Fuel capacity is 165L and the AdBlue tanks hold 12L.
The tractors are powered by the 3.4L common rail F5C engine from FPT Industrial, with emissions technology including ECOBlue compact HI-eSCR and low rate EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).
The Electro Command transmission has the maker’s new Auto Transport and Auto Field modes which improve the functionality. For road work, the former simplifies gear changing and helps reduce fuel consumption. And in the field, Auto Field mode manages both engine speed and transmission functions and optimises PTO and draft control. An optional creeper set is available with the 40km/h ECO Electro Command transmission.
Shuttle modulation is adjustable in three steps, allowing the operator to set the responsiveness of forward/reverse changes, particularly useful for tractors used with a loader.
Styling now aligns with the higher powered T6 and T7 ranges. Key developments are the options of Terraglide suspended front axle, Comfort Ride cabin suspension and front axle braking.
A rigid front axle option also allows the fitment of 28-inch wheel equipment.
The deluxe VisionView cab has improved ergonomics to keep all controls close at hand. A panoramic windscreen with a 200-degree wiper ensures visibility even in poor weather, and the operator gets better stowage in a storage box to the left of the seat.
Optional ISOBUS Class II capability makes it easy to monitor and control all implements using the optional IntelliView III monitor for single screen operation.
Night vision is improved with optional eight LED lights providing 15,600 lumens and a broader spread of white light, said to be 145% more powerful than the halogen equivalents.
For operators likely to need a loader, a new wide frame with bolted towers and the option of side rails form part of a loader-ready package. The option of new mechanical or electro-hydraulic joysticks with integrated transmission shifting is aimed at providing transmission and loader function buttons on the one unit.
Gross vehicle operating weight is greater at 8 tonnes. The rear linkage lift capacity is higher at 5420kg. An optional front linkage has 1850kg capacity and a 1000rpm PTO.
