Not raining whipped cream

Written by

The giant dairy whip silo outside Tatua Co-op Dairy Company has been stopping traffic for all the right reasons since getting new signage in 2013, heralding a co-op marketing ploy.

But had this giant silo exploded instead of collapsing as it did recently, it would have showered whipped cream over Tatuanui, taking that marketing to a new level. The crumpled can has been a hot topic in the Piako district since motorists driving from Te Aroha to Morrinsville noticed the damage. Some assume the cause was wild weather that hit the area recently but experts reckon it was a faulty air valve.
