The new Kverneland FlexCart from importer Power Farming comprises a 4300L hopper mounted on a robust chassis with oversize wheel equipment and a rear-mounted Cat 2 three-point linkage.
Designed to increase daily outputs, the unit can be used with seed drills for increasing planting between stops, or fertiliser applications with precision drill systems. Obviously suitable to be used with Kverneland products, such as Optima precision drill, the CX Ultra coulter-bars or the 6m tine seeder frame, the cart can be used equally well with other companies’ products.
Measuring 2.5 x 2.45m and with a filling height of 2.1m, the hopper is easily filled with a frontloader, telehandler or with an optional hydraulically driven auger in five minutes or less.
All setting and operating elements are easily accessible on the outside of the machine, including a metering device for fast, easy calibrations.
Mounted to the tractor by the lower link arms, the well-balanced frame offers a low centre of gravity.
It is easy to pull because of the reduced rolling resistance offered by the oversize tyres.
Double acting cylinders at the rear of the three-point linkage have a lift capacity of 400kg and the ability to transfer the same force to the coulter systems. Seeding depth is controlled by a centralised adjustment carried out with 2.5mm spacers.
The FlexCart incorporates the IsoMatch Tellus control system, which allows a real-time display and the ability to carry out a range of functions such as section control, half-width shut off and variable rate seed and fertiliser application.
Options include a PTO driven external fan to reduce hydraulic flow requirements and the already mentioned auger loading system.
“FlexCart will give users the potential to increase productivity and boost efficiency,” says the product specialist at Power Farming, John Chapman.
The Kverneland Pudama principle delivers spot placement of fertiliser in maize, rather than continuous fertiliser placement. As a result, it has the capability to deliver a 25% saving on starter fertiliser, with no noticeable loss of yield.
