Strong production, tested demand send milk prices crashing
Strong global milk production and rebalancing of demand among key buyers has delivered one of the biggest drops in whole milk powder prices in recent years.
Global dairy prices have recorded one of their biggest drops on the Global Dairy Trade (GDT) platform.
Last night’s auction saw the GDT Price Index drop 5.1%, compared to the previous auction.
However, the biggest concern will be the massive drop in whole milk powder prices: down 6.7% to US$3099/MT.
