Brighten up the farm, stay safe

Farms may be awash with safety footwear for men, but not for the girls.

If they need such footwear, they normally must buy it from mainstream outlets which sell boots tailored for the male foot, which as often or not are ill-fitting and uncomfortable.

Following an industrial accident, the owners of Australian company SheWear set about designing safety boots inclined to the nuances of the female foot. Its aim was to develop footwear that was comfortable, supportive and an exceptional fit.

Today the company offers seven styles in eight colours from black through purple to pink and sizing from size 5/EU36 to size 12/EU43. Complying with NZ and AU safety standards (as/nz 2210.3.2009), the boots are also tested by the independent BSI Group for further certification.

They are made from Nubuck (full grain leather uppers) and have a rubber or other kind of sole. They come with steel or composite safety toe-caps, or without safety inserts for those just looking for a good pair of boots. The boots have padded tongues and are water, oil and fuel resistant. So, if you want to inject a little colour onto the farm, or indeed your man, these are worth a look.
