Two high profile candidates have put their hands up for Silver Fern Farms board elections this year.

Former Federated Farmers chief executive Connor English and current Feds board member Chris Allen have filed their nominations.

They will take on SFF chairman Rob Hewett and sitting director Fiona Hancox.

A SFF statement says Hancox and Hewett retire by rotation at the company’s 2017 annual meeting, to be held in Dunedin on April 18; both have offered themselves for re-election.

The election will be conducted by postal and online ballot. Voting papers will be posted to eligible shareholders on Wednesday, 4 April 2018.

Voting will close at 3pm on Monday, 16 April 2018. The result will be announced prior to the annual meeting.

Full details on the election including information on the candidates standing, and eligibility criteria for voting will be available on the cooperative’s website from 7 March 2018 at: silverfernfarms.coop
