Fonterra, Sharesies join to make share trading easier
Fonterra is teaming up with wealth app provider Sharesies to make it easier for its farmer shareholders to trade co-op shares among themselves.
More than 3000 Fonterra farmers were consulted during the co-op's governance and representation review, says chairman John Wilson.
Wilson says over 400 meetings were held around the dairying regions; the last shed meeting was held this week.
Wilson told about 150 shareholders at Fonterra's special meeting today that the quality of feedback at these meeting was "excellent".
"Your feedback and ideas helped us make changes to the original proposal, he says.
Wilson says there's no "off the shelf" solution to the co-op's governance and representation.
He says the proposal asks farmers to make significant changes to take the co-op forward.
