THE MANAWATU Vintage Machinery Club Inc held its qualifying event on March 2 and an instruction/fun day on March 3, in a recently harvested wheat stubble paddock on the property owned by Adrian Noaro on Tane Rd, Opiki, Manawatu.

WINTON FATHER and son duo Peter and Jason Robson took out the horse ploughing section at the New Zealand Ploughing Championships in Cambridge over the weekend.

A name synonymous with Ploughing in New Zealand is Alan Wallace, now of Te Awamutu, who was the first New Zealander to win a World Ploughing Championship held in Eire in 1981.

FOR SOMEONE who has not done a lot of competitive ploughing, Colin Millar, of Rotorua (formerly of Reporoa), has come to the fore in this farming 'sport'.
