Manawatu is gearing up to showcase the country's premier ploughmen and ploughwomen in April.

The World Ploughing Championships have just concluded in Denmark and New Zealand entrants acquitted themselves well.

Alex Furniss has only ploughed at one New Zealand final – Gore in 1966.
