Shrinking?

Written by

Your old mate understands the Government has set up another committee on top of the 120-plus it has already established – this time for small business.

According to Small Business Minister Stuart Nash, the 13-member small business council has a mandate to “help the Government develop a strategy to drive improvement and innovation in the small business sector”. To the Hound this sounds eerily similar to the mandate of the $500,000 a year white elephant the Primary Sector Council. But what piques your canine crusader’s interest in this latest quango is that Fonterra is among the members of this small business advisory committee. We all know Fonterra is going through a tough time, but it is hardly a small business. But then, the way the dairy co-op is performing it could well be a small business very soon.
