Your old mate had to chuckle when Fonterra announced its new chief financial officer – none other than Marc Rivers.

Considering all the hoo-ha about dirty dairying and with dairy industry critics blaming the co-op for the poor state of the country’s waterways, this old mutt thinks it ironic that Fonterra’s new finance man is named Rivers. He can already see Greenpeace’s media release headline bagging the dairy sector: ‘Fonterra bags Rivers’. You read it here first.
