Vantage’s brand-agnostic strategy will allow farmers to use Timble products on most vehicles in their fleet. Vantage’s brand-agnostic strategy will allow farmers to use Timble products on most vehicles in their fleet.

Trimble, the global positioning and precision agriculture specialists began establishing its Vantage distributor network in 2016 to serve the rapidly evolving industry.

The company’s solutions cover all seasons, crops, terrains and farm sizes. Its brand-agnostic strategy allows farmers to use Trimble products on most vehicles in their fleet, regardless of manufacturer

From February 1, Agri Optics New Zealand Ltd has combined its staff with those of GPS Control Systems, to become Vantage New Zealand Agricultural Solutions Ltd. In doing so, it has now joined the international network of Vantage distributors and become the exclusive New Zealand Trimble agriculture dealer.

Offering the full Trimble Agriculture product portfolio, Vantage New Zealand will provide growers, advisors, retailers, co-ops and local OEMs with precision agriculture solutions for the entire farm.  Solutions on offer through Trimble include; guidance and steering systems for most farm machinery, regardless of make, type or model.

Additionally, the offering includes flow and application control systems to increase yield and save on input costs, water management solutions for irrigation and drainage that allow farmers to minimize water costs and efficiently distribute water.

On the advisory front, additional services will be available to assess crop health, investigate soil properties and make prescriptive nutrient recommendations – with data collection and management solutions to enable better decision making.

Recognising that many manufacturers already offer their own brands of precision agriculture solutions, Vantage NZ says ultimately farmers will choose brands that they are familiar with.

“But, at the end of the day, it’s about making it as easy as possible for farmers to use the machinery they want to, with the technology they want to, to get the best outcome for their individual farming businesses.”

The company suggests that by closing the gap between advice previously offered by Agri Optics and the Trimble Agriculture suite previously offered by GPS Control systems – while remaining brand-agnostic under the Vantage umbrella – it will be able to be more solutions-focusedfor their customers.

It says this will be achieved by dedicated support teams in the key farming regions, complimented by additional support from the company base in Methven.

“We are excited to be a Vantage partner serving the precision agriculture needs of farmers in New Zealand,” said Jemma Mulvihill of Vantage New Zealand.

“Our commitment has always been to help farmers find the right technology solutions that best meet their needs, while providing ongoing support and training so they can experience the full benefit of their precision agriculture solutions.”
