OPINION: Last week's announcement of Prime Minister’s new Science and Technology Advisory Council hasn’t gone down too well in the science community.

Several ‘expert reactions’ issued via the Science Media Centre claim that the committee is too dairy focused.

One expert pointed out half the committee come from dairy background. Nothing wrong with that, we say.

The appointment of John Roche is chief science advisor is an excellent choice and retaining Sir Peter Gluckman, Roche’s predecessor is a great move. Contrary to what some experts claim, the Government remains committed to science.
