The winners of the 2013 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards take pride their work and are focused on achieving best practice in all facets of dairy farming.

A HILL farm in the west, and a 5000ha station in the east are the latest winners in the annual round of regional Ballance Farm Environment Awards.

Tauranga dairy farmers Dennis, Judith and Gordon McFetridge were Supreme Winners of the 2013 Bay of Plenty Ballance Farm Environment Awards (BFEA), the first of this year’s round of regional awards announced. A field day will be held on their farm March 26.

Winning the 2013 Bay of Plenty Sharemilker/Equity Farmer of the Year title has proved a natural progression for Russell and Nadine Meade (pictured).

The big winners at the 2012 Southland Dairy Industry Awards are newcomers to the province, who share common interests and business strengths.
