Open Country opens butter plant
When American retail giant Cosco came to audit Open Country Dairy’s new butter plant at the Waharoa site and give the green light to supply their American stores, they allowed themselves a week for the exercise.
The Fonterra Shareholders Council has elected Ian Brown as its chairman.
The decision to formally elect Brown provides the Council with continuity heading into a post-Trading Among Farmers environment. Brown took over the chairmanship eight weeks aho after Simon Couper resigned over TAF.
Brown then helped guide the council and shareholders through the TAF final vote.
