This single-largest purchase in the company’s history uses cathodic dip painting to achieve greater corrosion protection; it is similar to those used in the automobile industry.
The technology sees the positively charged item to be coated attracting galvanising molecules from the solution in the dipping bath that are negatively charged.
Capable of painting 750,000 sq.m of surface per annum, the plant covers 8000 sq.m, sub-divided into three key areas.
Alongside hanging-up and taking-off stations, it has a pre-treatment and primer hall, a dip paint and powder coating area and three curing ovens. The areas are connected by an overhead track system extending to 2.3km and using fully automated transfer throughout.
