Fonterra chairman defends scheme

FONTERRA CHAIRMAN says its Farm Source scheme is not just a rebranding.


Speaking at Fonterra's annual meeting in Palmerston North this morning, John Wilson says Fonterra's board "won't waste farmers' money".


He says Farm Source connects farmer shareholders to the full strength of the co-op.


Fonterra launched Farm Source in Methven earlier this year.Farm Source livery will be extended to include 71 'hubs' throughout New Zealand within 25km from 90% of Fonterra farmers.


About 250 farmers are at the annual meeting.
